Looking for adventure and freedom, a family of three decided to take the leap and pursue their dream of exploring the world on their own terms. But, they didn’t want to do it in the traditional way. Instead of booking flights and hotels, they decided to convert an old bus into a cozy and comfortable home on wheels. With their two furry companions by their side, they set out to explore the breathtaking landscapes and vibrant cultures of southern Europe.
Now let’s take you a tour of their cozy home on wheels. You’ll get a glimpse of how they’ve transformed an old bus into a comfortable and functional living space, complete with a kitchen, sleeping areas, and even a space for their furry friends. Whether you’re someone who loves adventure, or you’re just looking for some inspiration for small space living, this family’s story is sure to inspire you.
As we step inside the bus, the first thing we notice is the bright and airy feel of the space. The family has made clever use of every inch of the bus while maintaining an open living space. The kitchen is located towards the front of the bus and is equipped with a fridge, sink, and stove.
Towards the end of the bus are the sleeping spaces. They built two beds that are big enough to sleep comfortably. Under both beds there is a lot of storage (or their horizontal wardrobe as they say).
Then at the very back of the bus there’s the kids room with comfy bed and lots of toys where Moris, the family youngest adventurer has his own privacy.
One of the most impressive features of the bus is the sustainable and eco-friendly solutions that the family has incorporated into their home. They’ve installed solar panels on the roof, which power their appliances and lights. They’ve also installed a composting toilet, which helps reduce their environmental impact while they’re on the road.
In the front of the bus right behind the driving cabin is the dinette and a decent sized kitchen with fridge, oven, stove and storage.
As the back of the bus floor is much higher than in the middle, they had to improvise a solution for the shower where they are able to stand so they installed it in the middle of the bus with a very nice shower tray.
And to keep a nice warm temperature inside during cool days, they installed infrared heaters, but also a wood chimney that adds up to the coziness of the space.
As we wrap up our tour of the bus, it’s clear that this family has created a truly unique and inspiring home on wheels. They’ve managed to incorporate all the comforts of home into a small space while also being mindful of their impact on the environment. Their story is a testament to the fact that with a little creativity and ingenuity, it’s possible to create a life of adventure and freedom on your own terms.
